Troubleshooting

  1. Charge for at least 30 minutes — the plate may be fully depleted
  2. Try a different USB-C cable and charger
  3. Hold the button for a full 2 seconds (a quick press does nothing)
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone/tablet
  • Make sure no other device is already connected to the plate (a ZPlate connects to one client at a time)
  • Power cycle the plate (off then on)
  • On Android, grant the app Location and Nearby Devices permissions
  • Check the surface is rigid and level — rubber flooring compresses and causes drift
  • Perform a tare in the app (Settings → Tare Plates) after the plate has been powered on for at least 30 seconds
  • Signal noise floor is ~1–5 N at rest; values in this range are normal
  • Check BLE connection — both plates must show as connected in the app
  • Power cycle the plate showing zero
  • If the issue persists, the load cell or ADC channel may need service — contact support
  • Keep the tablet/phone within 5 m of the plates
  • Avoid sources of 2.4 GHz interference (other BLE devices, Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens)
  • The test data captured up to the disconnect is saved; the session may be incomplete
  • Ensure battery is above 30% before starting OTA
  • Stay within BLE range during the entire update (~3–5 minutes)
  • If update fails mid-way, power cycle and retry — the bootloader is safe to re-flash

Email support@hootuo.com with your device serial number (printed on the underside of the plate) and a description of the issue.
