Migrating from Hawkin Dynamics
If your team used Hawkin Dynamics force plates before, your full history can be moved into Hootuo Cloud and viewed alongside new ZPlate tests.
The Hootuo team runs the migration. You provide one Hawkin API token and check a sample once it is imported.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A Hawkin Cloud organisation admin account and an active subscription. Data can no longer be exported through the API once the subscription ends, so plan ahead.
- A Hootuo Cloud account to view the migrated data.
- Create an API token. Sign in to Hawkin Cloud as an admin, open Settings → Integrations, and create an API token (refresh token). Read access is enough.
- Send us the token through the private channel we agree with you, not a group chat. The token can read all of your athletes’ data.
- Full export. We export your entire history through Hawkin’s official API: athletes, teams, groups, tags, each test’s results, and the raw force-time curves (1000 Hz per side). The export is archived exactly as received and checked month by month against the number of tests, so nothing goes missing. Several years of data usually takes a few hours.
- Trial import. We import a small sample first. You sign in to Cloud and check that athletes and tests look right.
- Full import. Once you confirm, we import everything.
- Revoke the token. When the migration is done, delete the token in Hawkin under Settings → Integrations.
What is migrated
Section titled “What is migrated”| Hawkin | Hootuo Cloud |
|---|---|
| Athletes | Athlete profiles (name, height, sport, position). Date of birth is imported only when it is a full date; otherwise it is kept in the notes. |
| Teams and groups | Groups, under the categories “Hawkin teams” and “Hawkin groups” |
| Test types | The matching Hootuo test: CMJ, SJ, DJ, Multi Rebound, CMJ Rebound, IMTP, isometric test, Free Run, weigh-in |
| Variants in the test name (e.g. NO ARM, 1 leg L) | Tags: No Arm, Single Leg L/R, Loaded, and so on |
| Box height, system weight | Box height and body weight on the test |
| Tests deactivated in Hawkin | Imported as disabled, so they stay out of aggregates |
| Hawkin’s computed metrics | Kept with each test as a reference |
Migrated records go into a separate archive organisation by default, so they do not sync to the tablets and phones running ZForce.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- Centre of pressure (COP) cannot be migrated. Hawkin’s export holds one vertical force per side, and COP needs the four corners of each plate. Balance and Free Run tests are imported, but no COP metrics are computed for them.
- Drop Landing tests are not imported yet. They are added once Hootuo’s drop landing analysis is released.
- Single-leg tests with no side recorded are not imported, for example a test named just “1 leg”. A left/right asymmetry cannot be computed meaningfully for them. The migration report lists each one, and you can tell us which side it was.
- Tests of athletes deleted in Hawkin cannot be linked to a person and are not imported.
- Athlete photos are not migrated.
Every migration comes with a report: how many records were imported, and the reason for each one that was not.
Data security
Section titled “Data security”- The exported data is used only for your migration and is stored with restricted access. It is not shared.
- Revoking the API token after the migration makes it useless.
